Looking to add some whimsy to your garden this Spring? Look no further! Join local artist and beloved A&C instructor, Susan Smith, in our Fused Glass: Whimsical Garden Stake III workshop. In this intermediate level workshop, class participants will build on the knowledge and skills previously learned in the Introduction to Fused Glass workshop to create a garden stake of their own design, using colorful glass and other unique embellishments. Instructor Susan Smith will teach class participants more advanced glass cutting and stacking skills, as well as tips and techniques for bringing their design to "life." During this workshop, students will have the opportunity to share with their fellow classmates why the image or symbol they chose holds significant or special meaning to them, all in a safe and welcoming environment. While this intermediate level workshop will focus heavily on the techniques and skills required for more advanced glass fusing, instructor Susan Smith will also encourage class participants to create a garden stake that has personal significance as far as colors, designs, and symbols. At the end of the workshop, students will have the opportunity to share their experience with glass fusing as an art form and reflect on what they have learned with their fellow classmates. Leave with a more detailed understanding of the intricacies of fused glass as an art form, as well as the perfect piece of art to decorate your garden with this Spring! Ages 16+ This is an intermediate level workshop and may only be taken once. You may only register for this class if you have taken the Introduction to Fused Glass workshop previously held at Art & Connection. No exceptions, please. Class participants should come to class prepared with an idea, picture, or design for their garden stake. All finished fused glass pieces will be available for pickup one week after the completion of the class.
