Community Outreach

Providing the "Gift of Possibility" throughout NW Michigan.

Creativity Cruiser

The "Creativity Cruiser" is a mobile art van bringing the joy of creativity directly into communities across Northwest Michigan - like an ice cream truck for free art supplies.  Designed to remove transportation as a barrier, the "Creativity Cruiser" travels to neighborhoods where access to art materials and creative opportunities may otherwise be out of reach and provides free art supplies and kits to children.  By meeting kids where they are, the van creates a fun, welcoming experience that sparks imagination, encourages self-expression, and reminds children and families that art belongs to everyone.  More than just a van, the "Creativity Cruiser" is a moving invitation to create, connect and discover the power of art in every corner of our region.

Driving creativity to where it's needed most!

"The Gift of Possibility"

Teacher Grants

In the spring of 2026, we are launching a Teacher Grant Initiative to support teachers in districts througout Northwest Michigan.  This program empowers educators to bring their most inspiring ideas to life by providing funding for innovative classroom programs, meaningful projects and essential materials that they otherwise could not afford.  Too often, passionate teachers see opportunities for their students limited by budget constraints, but this initiative helps turn imagination into action.  Whether it's launching a creative learning experience, building a hands-on project or purchasing supplies that enrich daily instruction, these grants give teachers the resources to create classrooms where creativity grows and students thrive.  By investing in educators, the initiative creates a ripple effect that transforms learning and opens new possibilities.

Teachers may apply for up to $5,000 and school-wide grants up to $10,000.  Call for additional information and to receive the application.

Community Events

We aim to make art available to everyone, and part of that is through our outreach programs.  Besides finding us out and about in the Creativity Cruiser, we participate in local events such as Art Beat and Evening on River Street.  We can also be found visiting local nursing homes, day care centers, and schools.  We also enjoy collaborating with local businesses to bring new activities to our community and raise awareness of everything Art and Connection is about.

If you feel there is a need, a way to partner, or a way we could help connect our community, please reach out to us at info@artandconnection.org.
