[SATURDAY CLASS] Learn and explore watercolor techniques, led by local artist Elizabeth Manning

Starts Feb 7Art & Connection

Service Description

Join us at Art & Connection for our Watercolor Workshop II, where you will learn and play with watercolors in a class that focuses on core painting techniques and self exploration. In this class led by local artist and instructor Elizabeth Manning, you will receive a whole class skills demonstration, a variety of options for self directed activities, and opportunities to ask questions and receive customized tips from the instructor. We will work together in a safe and supportive environment to get you in that sweet spot - just outside of your comfort zone where play and learning come together! Learn how to focus on process versus product, as modeled by Elizabeth's personal sketchbook practice. In addition to learning the skills of color mixing, brush and water control, and other core watercolor techniques, you will explore a connection to self by focusing on ways to turn down the volume of your inner critic and engage with a sense of play and purpose. Throughout the class you will explore connections to others by sharing what new skills or discoveries you noticed, as well as have the opportunity to talk about what was challenging or unexpected with this medium. Leave feeling a sense of personal accomplishment for trying a new art form, as well as the skills and techniques needed to continue your watercolor journey at home! Ages 16+ This is an introductory workshop, focused on the study and exploration of watercolor techniques. No previous watercolor experience is required.
