Starts Mar 7Art & Connection

Service Description

Join us at Art & Connection for our Painting with Wool: Abstract Art workshop, where local artist and instructor Patty Clark will guide you through a vibrant wool felting project that focuses on process versus product, all in a safe and encouraging environment. Patty will introduce tools and techniques to help make this art form less intimidating to first time felters, including meditative techniques to help you unleash your creativity with an open heart and mind. The best part? You will have the creative freedom to make your piece of art as abstract at you would like, with tips from Patty on how to make a unique composition that is well balanced and colorful, and as unique as you are! We encourage you to connect with your fellow classmates through conversation and sharing, and unleash your creative freedom from the restraints of making a "perfect" painting. Throughout this class, you will learn about the different types of tools used in felting. You will see and feel the fibers of wool, silk, flax, and more. Learn a variety of felting techniques, and enjoy letting your creativity bloom as you explore this relaxing sensory art form. Leave with not only a beautiful piece of art that you can gift or display in your home year round, but also a newfound understanding of the basic elements of wool felting! Ages 16+ Please note: This is an introductory wool felting class. No previous felting experience is required. You are encouraged to research abstract wool felting art designs ahead of the class, and come with a reference photo or idea for your art piece. Class participants may bring a snack or lunch with them to class.
