Join instructor Michele Scott at Art & Connection for our Impasto Texture Art workshop, where class participants will learn Impasto art techniques. This art form, made famous throughout history by impressionist artists such as Monet and Van Gogh, involves applying layers of thick paint on a canvas or surface by using brushes or pallet knives. In this workshop, you will not only learn the techniques and history behind this unique art form and create a design of your own choosing, but also connect with your classmates as you explore the energy, intensity, and passion that comes from creating Impasto art. As you capture spontaneity and emotion through your visible brush strokes, you will see your design become three dimensional and capture emotion beyond flat color. After sharing with your classmates your finished masterpiece, you will leave with a 12x12 piece of textured art that is as unique, colorful, and bold as you are! Ages 16+ Class participants are encouraged to bring an idea or image for inspiration with them to class.
